Artin Residence - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this project consists of the addition of a dining bay, a reconfigured rear entrance and powder room, a raised herb garden and an at-grade stone terrace to an 1876 Victorian city residence.  Operating a part-time bed and breakfast at the house, the Owner wanted to increase the dining area in the kitchen and improve access to her back yard.   Reminiscent of the existing bays, the detailing of the new bay was simplified for economy yet maintains the character and proportions of the more formal bays on the side and front of the house.  In addition, the basement access pavilion was rebuilt and redesigned to add charm to the back yard and terrace.  The before photo is at the left.
